Betsey has been designing since the 1960s and has been in the fashion industry for over 40 years. She recently celebrated her 68th birthday, and she is still working to create lines for fall and spring. Her shows are known for their outrageous themes. She has done everything from Peter Pan to the Wild, Wild West and her most recent theme, At the Racetrack. She is loved by celebrities, but her designs are not ridiculously priced. Anyone can afford her wild creations. She has received numerous awards for her inspiration and imagination including a spot on the Fashion Walk of Fame in New York City. She is also a CFDA recipient which establishes her position as one of world's greatest designers. Betsey has accomplished so much in her lifetime and has inspired so many. She brings youth and vibrance to everything she does, and is set to paint to world pink. What's not to love?!
As the title of this post indicates, Betsey is a breast cancer survivor. She is an extremely influential advocate for a cure and is a huge contributor to creating fashion for a cause. I hope you enjoy the following photos of Betsey and some of her most memorable moments and designs. Click here to see her website!
Perhaps Betsey's most popular products are her accessories. You can purchase her jewelry for as low as $20 for a pair of earrings! Dillard's usually carries her full jewelry line.
Betsey is also known for illustrating all of her own advertisements and for creating fabrics from her drawings.
And, of course, we can't forget about her shoe line! She is known for designing the soles of her shoes with her illustrations and bright colors that add the perfect flash of pink when you walk. Too cute!
We are really excited about the new Betsey's we received last week! We couldn't think of a better opportunity to display them then in our Betsey post! Check back Thursday for special savings on one of these pairs!
